Across Africa
Featured books of the month Note: The descriptions of each book were provided
by Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and comments from customers.
Africa
Solo : A Journey Across the Sahara, Sahel, and Congo
by Kevin Kertscher Africa Solo is a wonderfully compelling book. It is an
easy to read narrative of a man who is doing what most of us at one time
have thought about doing-exploring! I enjoy travel books because it sends
you to locations you've never been. You can feel the desert fever, hear
the silence, and taste the sand on your face. It was a great book and I
recommend it!

An
Affair With Africa : Expeditions and Adventures Across a Continent
by Alzada Carlisle Kistner Alzada Kistner is a terrific writer who enjoys giving
her perspective of Africa from a personal and scienific point of view.
You learn alot about termites and ants which is surprisingly interesting,
but you also get unforgettable descriptions of animals and scenery and
adventures. You can tell Alzada loves Africa; it shows in every chapter.
Well worth reading!

The
Shadow of Kilimanjaro : On Foot Across East Africa
by Rick Ridgeway I was fortunate enough to have been a safari guide in
Kenya for a year and have met and known many of the characters in this
wonderful book. Mr. Ridgeway has covered many of the complicated issues
about conservation in the Tsavo area and on a larger scale East Africa.
I salute his knowledge and thirst for learning more about this wonderful
region of Africa.
